Digital asset ETFs moved lower on June 4 as the broader cryptocurrency market sold off sharply. Bitcoin ETFs declined an average of 2.7% on the day and experienced approximately $536.3 million in net outflows, reflecting continued investor caution. Major spot Bitcoin funds such as IBIT (-2.8%), FBTC (-2.7%), and GBTC (-2.7%) all moved lower, while leveraged Bitcoin products posted steeper average losses of 5.5%. Ethereum ETFs were among the weakest segments, falling an average of 6.3%, with category outflows totaling roughly $62.0 million. Leveraged Ethereum funds underperformed significantly, declining an average of 11.5%, although the category still attracted approximately $1.8 million in net inflows, led by ETHU.
Solana ETFs declined an average of 5.1%, but investor demand remained relatively constructive, with the category attracting approximately $9.5 million in net inflows. The strongest flow activity came from GSOL, which added roughly $6.5 million, while leveraged Solana products collectively gained about $2.9 million despite average losses of 6.3%. XRP ETFs were the most resilient major category, declining just 1.8% on average while recording approximately $2.7 million in net inflows. Leveraged XRP funds, including XXRP and XRPT, attracted roughly $3.0 million of new capital and declined an average of 2.1%, outperforming leveraged Bitcoin and Ethereum products.
Across all categories, leveraged crypto ETFs experienced the largest price declines due to their amplified exposure, with average daily returns of approximately -5.5% for Bitcoin, -11.5% for Ethereum, -6.3% for Solana, and -2.1% for XRP. Overall, the flow data indicate that investors continued reducing exposure to Bitcoin and Ethereum products while selectively allocating capital toward Solana- and XRP-focused funds despite the broader market downturn.
Bitcoin futures are down 2.9%, Cryptocurrency markets experienced a sharp selloff overnight, with total market capitalization falling 5.4% to $2.27 trillion from $2.37 trillion reported on June 3, erasing roughly $100 billion in value. The weakness was broad-based across major cryptocurrencies, with Bitcoin declining 5.4% to $63,015, Ethereum falling 6.0% to $1,757, Solana dropping 8.9% to $68.06, and Cardano losing 12.3% to $0.19. Altcoins were hit particularly hard, as NEAR Protocol fell 18.1%, SEI declined 16.3%, Toncoin dropped 15.4%, and Ondo lost 13.5%, reversing much of the strength seen in several of these names just a day earlier. Despite the market-wide downturn, Worldcoin (WLD) continued to outperform, rising 10.9% over the past 24 hours and 68.0% over the past week, while Monero (XMR) gained 2.2%, demonstrating relative resilience. Sector performance was broadly negative, with Layer-1, Metaverse, and DeFi tokens all posting significant losses, highlighting a risk-off environment and continued pressure on higher-beta crypto assets. Overall, the market tone remains decidedly bearish, with altcoins substantially underperforming Bitcoin and Ethereum as investors continue to reduce risk exposure.
