Bitcoin futures are slightly firmer this morning. Crypto ETF performance remained under pressure over the past week as weakness in the underlying digital asset market weighed on both spot and leveraged products. Among Bitcoin ETFs, major spot funds including BlackRock’s IBIT, Fidelity’s FBTC, ARKB, BITB, and Grayscale’s Bitcoin products declined roughly 2.0% on the day and 5.5% over the past week, though they continue to show gains of approximately 11%-12% over the last three months. Fund flow trends remained mixed, with FBTC, GBTC, BITB, and ARKB experiencing notable outflows over the past month, while Grayscale’s Bitcoin Mini Trust (BTC) continued to attract positive year-to-date inflows. Leveraged Bitcoin products were hit harder, with BITX and BITU declining more than 4% on the day and approximately 11% over the past week.
Ethereum ETFs experienced a more challenging period, reflecting Ethereum’s recent underperformance. Spot Ethereum funds including ETHA, FETH, ETHW, ETHV, and QETH fell roughly 2% on the day and 6% over the past week, while remaining down more than 12% over the past month. Flow activity was mixed, with Fidelity’s FETH and Grayscale’s ETHE posting significant recent outflows, partially offset by positive inflows into select products such as ETHW. Leveraged Ethereum ETFs, including ETHU, ETHT, and ETU, declined approximately 4%-4.5% on the day and around 12% over the week, with losses exceeding 25% over the past month.
Solana ETFs broadly tracked the weakness in altcoins, with spot products such as BSOL, GSOL, VSOL, TSOL, QSOL, and FSOL declining approximately 1.8%-2.3% on the day and more than 6% over the past week. Despite recent weakness, most Solana ETFs remain modestly positive over the past three months. Flow trends were generally constructive, with Bitwise’s BSOL recording more than $80 million of monthly inflows and over $280 million of year-to-date inflows. Leveraged Solana funds such as SOLT and SLON underperformed significantly, falling more than 4% on the day and over 13% during the past week.
Among XRP ETFs, performance was somewhat more resilient than Solana and Ethereum products. Spot XRP funds including XRPC, XRPZ, GXRP, XRPI, and XRPR declined roughly 1.0%-1.2% on the day and approximately 4.7%-5.0% over the past week. Franklin’s XRPZ continued to lead flow activity with nearly $41 million of monthly inflows and more than $151 million of year-to-date inflows. Leveraged XRP products, however, experienced significantly greater volatility, with XXRP, XRPT, and UXRP falling between 9%-10% over the past week and more than 12% over the past month.
Overall, leveraged crypto ETFs significantly underperformed their spot counterparts across Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and XRP exposures as recent market weakness amplified downside returns. While fund flows remain strongest in select Bitcoin, Solana, and XRP products, investors have generally reduced exposure to several large spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs during the recent pullback, suggesting continued caution despite positive three-month performance trends in many of the underlying digital assets.
Cryptocurrency markets showed modest improvement overnight, with total market capitalization rising 0.6% to $2.56 trillion as risk sentiment stabilized following recent weakness. Bitcoin and Ethereum both returned to positive territory, gaining 0.3% and 1.0%, respectively, while several major Layer-1 networks outperformed. Hedera (HBAR) continued its strong momentum, advancing 10.9% over the past 24 hours, while NEAR Protocol rebounded 3.5% after being among the prior session’s weakest performers. Stellar (XLM) remained the standout performer across the market, rising 23.4% over the past day and 44.4% over the past week, highlighting continued investor interest in select large-cap altcoins. DeXe (DEXE) also posted notable strength, gaining 12.9% in the last 24 hours and nearly 35% over the past seven days.
Despite the broader recovery, weakness persisted in several areas of the market. Bitcoin Cash (BCH) remained under pressure, declining 7.4% over the past 24 hours and more than 20% over the past week, while Celestia (TIA) fell 7.8% and Monero (XMR) slipped 2.9%. Within the DeFi sector, performance remained mixed, with Chainlink (LINK) and Uniswap (UNI) still down significantly on a weekly basis, although OKB and Cronos (CRO) demonstrated relative resilience. In the Metaverse segment, Internet Computer (ICP) led gains with a 5.0% advance, while most legacy metaverse tokens continued to trade below recent levels despite modest daily rebounds.
Overall, the market appears to be finding support following a period of consolidation, with strength concentrated in a select group of assets rather than signaling a broad-based altcoin rally. Continued outperformance from Stellar, Hedera, and DeXe, combined with stabilization in Bitcoin and Ethereum, suggests improving investor confidence, although ongoing weakness in Bitcoin Cash, Celestia, and other laggards indicates that market participation remains uneven.
