A Strategic Resource for ETF Digital Asset (Crypto-Currency) Investors

Crypto Morning Daily

Market-Wide Correction featured Heavy Selling Last Week

Crypto ETF Performance across the board was negative last week, as major cryptocurrency categories faced significant headwinds. Ethereum ETFs held up relatively better than their peers, declining -4.48% WTD. The Altcoin category was the primary laggard, suffering a steep -7.06% loss for the week. On a YTD basis, all categories remain in negative territory, with Ethereum and Bitcoin down -5.54% and -2.97% respectively.

Daily Update, As of 06:00 ET, the crypto market is modestly softer, with total market capitalization down 1.2% to $2.69 trillion, reflecting continued risk-off pressure across major assets. While broader conditions remain heavy, select tokens posted strong short-term moves, led by MemeCore and MYX Finance, both up over 12% in the past 24 hours, suggesting pockets of speculative rotation despite the weaker backdrop. World Liberty Financial and Canton also advanced, though all four top gainers remain mixed to sharply lower on a 7-day basis, highlighting how rallies are largely tactical rather than trend-changing.

On the downside, privacy-focused Monero led notable decliners, dropping 7.6% on the day, while exchange token BGB and gold-backed tokens XAUt and PAXG also slid as defensive positioning failed to hold. Ethereum stood out among majors with a 4.7% daily loss and a steep 21.4% weekly decline, underscoring sustained pressure in large-cap smart contract platforms.

Layer-1 networks broadly traded lower, with Bitcoin down 1.2% on the day and nearly 12% over the week, while Solana, BNB, Avalanche, Polkadot, and Cardano all extended multi-week drawdowns. This suggests ongoing deleveraging and reduced risk appetite rather than isolated weakness. The Metaverse segment remained particularly soft, with Axie Infinity down over 32% on the week and several peers posting double-digit 7-day losses, pointing to continued capital flight from higher-beta thematic plays.

DeFi tokens mirrored the broader trend: Chainlink, Uniswap, Filecoin, and Cronos all posted weekly declines in the mid-teens to high-teens, while Aave showed relative resilience with a slight 24-hour gain. Overall, the market tone remains defensive, with short-term bounces appearing selective and momentum still skewed to the downside across most sectors.
