
Digital asset ETFs showed mixed daily performance but continued strong momentum over the past week and month. Bitcoin ETFs were generally slightly lower on the day, with most major funds declining around 0.3%–0.4%, despite remaining up roughly 13% over the past week and 11%–12% over the past month. Investor demand remained strong, with Bitcoin-focused ETFs recording approximately $914 million in combined one-day net inflows. The largest inflows went to IBIT at $381 million, ARKB at $289 million, and FBTC at $239 million, indicating continued institutional interest despite the minor daily pullback.
Ethereum ETFs followed a similar pattern, with most funds posting modest daily losses of around 0.4%–0.5%, while maintaining gains of roughly 14% over both the past week and month. Ethereum products generated approximately $200 million in combined daily inflows, led by ETHA with about $110 million and FETH with roughly $73 million. Solana ETFs were also slightly negative on the day but remained particularly strong over longer periods, with typical funds up around 20% for the week and 30% for the month and approximately $26 million in daily inflows.
XRP-related ETFs were the standout performers, with the group posting strong positive daily returns and a median gain of roughly 5.5%, while weekly returns were around 22%. Overall, the data points to a market experiencing minor consolidation in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana products after strong recent gains, while ETF flows remain positive and XRP products continue to outperform on a short-term basis.
The cryptocurrency market showed signs of a modest recovery heading into September 23, with total market capitalization rising 0.4% to $3.03 trillion as of 6:00 a.m. ET, following a 0.5% decline the previous evening. Major cryptocurrencies remained relatively subdued despite the broader market improvement. Bitcoin slipped 0.3% to $85,794, Ethereum declined 0.5% to $2,734, and Solana edged 0.1% lower to $117.20. Meanwhile, several other Layer-1 assets moved higher, including Cardano (+2.5%), Avalanche (+2.0%), Hedera (+2.9%), and NEAR (+0.9%). Weekly performance remained notably strong across many of these assets, with NEAR up 87.8%, Avalanche up 52.9%, and Cardano up 30.5% over seven days.
Strength was more pronounced among select altcoins, DeFi, and metaverse-related tokens. Bitcoin Cash was the standout performer, surging 32.4% over 24 hours and 63.4% over the past week, while Uniswap jumped 14.4% on the day and nearly 60% for the week. Metaverse assets also broadly advanced, including Klaytn (+13.5%), Chiliz (+7.2%), Axie Infinity (+6.8%), and Internet Computer (+3.7%). Within DeFi, Aave gained 5.5%, while Uniswap led the category. Overall, the market remained mixed among the largest cryptocurrencies, but strong gains across several altcoins and decentralized-finance assets helped push total market capitalization higher and showed broader participation in the recent weekly rally.
