Crypto ETFs were broadly lower in the latest trading session on Friday, although most remained positive for the week. Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded modest declines, with IBIT down 0.11%, FBTC down 0.20% and GBTC down 0.14%; each remained approximately 3.1% higher over the past week. Bitcoin fund flows were mixed but generally constructive, led by roughly $33.4 million into IBIT and $30.7 million into FBTC.
Ethereum ETFs experienced greater selling pressure, with ETHA falling 1.56%, ETHE declining 1.65% and FETH losing 1.71%, despite retaining weekly gains of approximately 4%. Ethereum flows were negative overall, including $11.2 million of outflows from FETH and $4.8 million from ETHE.
XRP ETFs declined approximately 0.5% but remained more than 2% higher for the week, while Solana ETFs fell between roughly 0.7% and 0.9% and were nearly unchanged on a weekly basis. Leveraged products magnified the weakness: 2× Bitcoin ETFs generally declined between 0.2% and 0.5%, leveraged Ethereum ETFs lost approximately 3.4% to 3.7%, 2× XRP funds fell between 1.1% and 1.5%, and leveraged Solana ETFs declined between 1.6% and 2.0%. Overall, the session reflected moderate profit-taking, particularly in Ethereum products, while positive weekly performance across Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP ETFs indicates that the broader short-term trend remains comparatively resilient.
The cryptocurrency market traded lower early Monday, July 20, with total market capitalization declining 0.9% to $2.25 trillion as of 6:00 a.m. ET. Layer-1 assets were mixed but generally subdued. Bitcoin declined 0.5% to $64,177, although it remained 1.8% higher over the past week. Ethereum was nearly unchanged, slipping 0.1% to $1,864 while retaining a strong 4.4% weekly gain. Metaverse tokens were mostly lower, led by declines in Klaytn and Chiliz, while Decentraland gained 1.1%.
DeFi performance was also mixed. Chainlink and Aave each advanced 0.6%, with Chainlink up 5.1% for the week. Cronos fell 2.3% despite remaining 4.4% higher over seven days, while Uniswap declined approximately 2.3% and was down 3.0% for the week. Overall, the market began the week in a defensive posture, although the weekly gains in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Chainlink and Cronos suggest that underlying conditions remain more resilient than the day’s broad decline indicates.
