A Strategic Resource for ETF Digital Asset (Crypto-Currency) Investors

Crypto Morning Daily

Crypto markets remained under pressure overnight, with total digital asset market capitalization declining 3.0% to $2.54T following weakness during the prior U.S. session. Bitcoin fell 3.2% to $73,360 while Ethereum declined 4.5% to $1,990, contributing to broad-based selling across Layer-1, DeFi, and speculative altcoin sectors. Despite the broader risk-off tone, Stellar (XLM) continued to outperform with a 16.7% daily gain and an 18.3% advance over the past week, while NEAR Protocol maintained strong momentum with a 37.2% seven-day increase.

Ethereum underperformed most major Layer-1 assets during the session, reflecting continued caution surrounding smart contract activity, ETF inflows, and overall network utilization trends. The move lower in ETH also weighed on Ethereum-linked ETFs, with iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA), Fidelity Ethereum Fund (FETH), and Grayscale Ethereum Trust (ETHE) each declining roughly 0.8%-1.0%. Trading activity suggests investors remain hesitant to materially increase exposure despite improving institutional adoption trends earlier in the quarter.

Solana (SOL) declined 3.2% to $81.04 and remains down 6.2% over the past seven days, though relative performance versus Ethereum continues to hold firm. Institutional and retail interest in Solana-related ecosystems remains supported by ongoing activity in tokenization, payments infrastructure, and decentralized applications. However, near-term price action continues to track broader beta-driven crypto market weakness, particularly as speculative positioning unwinds across higher-volatility Layer-1 assets.

XRP showed relative resilience compared to other major cryptocurrencies, falling only modestly versus broader market declines after trading at $1.31 during the prior U.S. session. XRP continues to benefit from its positioning within cross-border payments narratives and increasing institutional discussion surrounding blockchain-based settlement infrastructure. While momentum has cooled in recent sessions, XRP remains one of the stronger-performing large-cap digital assets on a year-to-date basis.

Crypto ETFs broadly traded lower alongside spot prices. Spot Bitcoin ETFs declined approximately 1.2%-1.5% on the day, with iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) down 1.26%, Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) lower by 1.27%, Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) declining 1.34%, and Bitwise Bitcoin ETF Trust (BITB) falling 1.33%. Fund flow data reflected continued institutional caution, with notable daily outflows from several major spot Bitcoin products including IBIT, FBTC, and GBTC.

Leveraged crypto ETFs materially underperformed underlying spot assets as volatility accelerated. ProShares Ultra Bitcoin ETF (BITU) declined 2.77%, while T-Rex 2X Long Bitcoin Daily Target ETF (BTCL) fell 2.58%, reflecting the amplified downside impact from Bitcoin’s overnight decline. Leveraged crypto products continue to experience elevated trading volumes as short-term traders position around heightened macro and crypto-specific volatility. The divergence between spot ETF flows and trading activity in leveraged products suggests that institutional investors remain defensive while tactical traders continue utilizing leverage for short-duration positioning opportunities.

Crypto markets weakened overnight, with total market capitalization falling another 3.0% to $2.54T after already declining 1.5% during the prior U.S. session. The move reflects continued risk-off sentiment across large-cap digital assets, with broad pressure in Layer-1s and DeFi names outweighing isolated strength in select altcoins.

Bitcoin declined 3.2% to $73,360 and is now down 5.5% over the last seven days, while Ethereum fell 4.5% to $1,990. Other major Layer-1 assets also traded lower, including Solana (-3.2%), Avalanche (-3.5%), Cardano (-3.5%), and Polkadot (-5.1%). Hyperliquid reversed sharply after prior relative strength, falling 9.2% overnight following a +12.5% seven-day gain as of yesterday evening.

The strongest relative performer remained Stellar (XLM), extending gains to +16.7% over 24 hours and +18.3% over the past week. NEAR Protocol also continued to outperform on a relative basis, maintaining a +37.2% seven-day gain despite modest overnight weakness. In contrast, Ondo (ONDO) gave back yesterday’s rally, dropping 9.5% after being among the prior session’s leading gainers.

Within DeFi, weakness accelerated across higher-beta protocols. Uniswap fell 7.7% and is now down 16.8% over the past week, while Filecoin declined 8.7%. Chainlink and OKB also moved lower alongside broader market selling pressure.

Metaverse-linked tokens underperformed as well, led by Internet Computer (ICP), which reversed from yesterday’s +7.8% advance to a 10.5% decline overnight. Axie Infinity, Chiliz, and The Sandbox also remained under pressure on weak seven-day momentum.

Overall, price action suggests continued deleveraging and reduced risk appetite across crypto markets following recent rebounds in select altcoins. Market leadership remains narrow, with only a handful of names such as XLM and NEAR maintaining positive momentum against broader sector weakness.
